Radar Transceiver Buoy

The Radar Transceiver Buoy is a high power directional transmitter / receiver for data transfer over massive distances. They are expensive and relatively fragile so are generally only deployed in safe sectors where adequate protection can be afforded them, or in emergencies where the cost of the unit is warranted, and the risk of losing it is worth bearing.

If you want to have drone ships which are able to receive your commands, or be able to send distress messages to other parts of the Universe then you need some of these.

As with Marker Buoys there exist various business opportunities for trading them or their components, repairing / recovering or stealing them. They are also prone to hacking and can be used to deceive their owners, or their owners droid ships.... which is a criminal offence, as is stealing or destroying radar transceiver's belonging to others...
